Memorandum of Understanding (September 5, 2011)

Early September the University of Innsbruck and the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have signed a memorandum of understanding that eases international cooperation.

Due to his long lasting research activities in Japan Prof. Aart Middeldorp has developed excellent contacts to leading researchers in Japan an initiated many collaborations. Based on his contacts he initiated a memorandum of understanding between the University of Innsbruck and the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST). The agreement was signed by vice-rector Margret Friedrich and rector Takuya Katayama, who was accompanied by Prof. Mizuhito Ogawa and Prof. Nao Hirokawa. International cooperation is very important for both involved institutions and the signed agreement is the bases for a fruitful collaboration of the two universities both on teaching and research level.
